One of the few houses that does everything itself
At Fuji Gotemba everything happens on one site: fermenting, distilling, maturing, blending and bottling. Malt and grain both come from the house itself, and that makes the blend an honest story.
We have the Fuji Blended in stock. If you are not sure whether this is the bottle for you, give us a call. That is what we are here for.

Three ways to distil grain
- Fuji Gotemba in five facts
- 1972Kirin Seagram is founded as a joint venture.
- 1973the distillery in Gotemba starts running.
- 620 mthe altitude at which it stands, on the south-east flank of Mount Fuji.
- 3different installations for grain whisky: kettle, column and multi-column.
- 6pot stills in different shapes for the malt whisky.
Fuji Gotemba is in Gotemba in Shizuoka Prefecture, at an altitude of about 620 metres on the south-eastern side of Mount Fuji. That spot was chosen for its cool, less humid climate. The water comes from three of the site’s own springs, fed by the mountain.
The distillery began in 1973 as a collaboration between Kirin, Seagram and Chivas Brothers; both foreign partners have since left. What remained is an unusual set-up: besides six pot stills in different shapes there are three different installations for grain whisky, which produce light, medium and heavy grain distillate.
As a result, the house can put together a blend made only from its own distillate. Fermenting, distilling, maturing, blending and bottling all happen in the same place.
Three kinds of grain whisky from one house: you rarely come across that.
