Cuban rum is the style on which the mojito, the daiquiri and the Cuba libre are built. We stock both the clear and the aged versions, because for a cocktail you want something different from what you want for drinking neat.

The Cuban school works with rum from a column distillery, aged in oak and then filtered through charcoal. The result is light in colour and clean in taste.
Ron ligero is the clear variety, with vanilla, sugar cane and a dry finish. Añejo stands for aged rum; the longer in cask, the more caramel, tobacco and dried fruit.
For cocktails this style is ideal because it does not overpower the other ingredients. Mint, lime and sugar get room, and the rum gives the whole thing body.
