Càrn Mòr works with two clearly separated ranges. Strictly Limited is about young casks, usually six to eleven years old, always at 47.5 percent and usually under seventy-five euros. Celebration of the Cask is about old casks at full strength, in runs of a few hundred bottles.
We have a wide choice of both: six from the first series and ten from the second, together from fifteen different distilleries. Among them a Caperdonich from 1992. That distillery was demolished in 2010, so what is left of it is finite. If you are not sure which one you need, give us a call. That is what we are here for.

Càrn Mòr is the bottling range of Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, the family company behind, among others, the Aberargie distillery. The name is Gaelic for ‘large pile of stones’: the cairns that are piled up on mountain tops in Scotland.
What sets the house apart is the sharp separation between the two ranges. With Strictly Limited you know exactly what you get: a young cask, always at 47.5 percent, in a price class where you would not normally find a single cask. Celebration of the Cask is the opposite: old casks that go into the bottle undiluted, with strengths of over sixty-five percent.
In both ranges the distillery is simply named on the label. That is far from always the case with independent bottlers.
Why does it sometimes only say ‘Orkney’?
Because some distilleries do not allow their name on someone else’s bottle. The bottler then puts the region on it: Orkney, Speyside, Highland. With that twenty-two-year-old Orkney, you know where it comes from, but not from which distillery. We do not guess at that. It simply comes with the territory.

Frequently asked questions about Càrn Mòr
How many Càrn Mòr does ’t Bockje have in stock?
Sixteen bottlings, all immediately available, from fifteen different distilleries.
What is the difference between Strictly Limited and Celebration of the Cask?
Strictly Limited is about young casks, always bottled at 47.5 percent and usually under seventy-five euros. Celebration of the Cask is about old casks that go into the bottle undiluted, in small runs and at a higher price.
Who is behind Càrn Mòr?
Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, a Scottish family business. The name is Gaelic for a large pile of stones, after the cairns that are stacked on Scottish mountain tops.
Why do some bottles not list a distillery?
Because not every distillery allows its name on a bottler’s bottle. Then only the region is named, for example Orkney. Which distillery it is, we do not say: that can only be guessed at.
Which Càrn Mòr should you try first?
One from the Strictly Limited series: the Teaninich or the Tormore at around sixty euros. For that money, a single cask at 47.5 percent is exceptional.
Does ’t Bockje also ship Càrn Mòr abroad?
Yes. We ship to around forty countries. Email info@bockje.nl if you want to know whether your country is included.
