Fercullen covers a wide range: a blend at thirty-three euros, a First Release from its own distillery, a finish on amarone casks and two old bottles from the Five Elements series: eighteen and twenty years.
Those old bottles do not come from the new distillery itself; that is usual with young Irish houses. Not sure which one you need? Give us a call. That is what we are here for.

A distillery on an estate
- The distillery in brief
- PowerscourtAn estate in the Wicklow Mountains, south of Dublin.
- FercullenThe old name of the area governed by the O’Toole clan.
- WaterFrom the mountains of Wicklow.
- SeriesFalls and Premium Blend as an entry point, Five Elements at the top end.
Fercullen is the whiskey name of the Powerscourt distillery, located on the estate of the same name in County Wicklow, the area known in Ireland as the garden of the country. The distillery is housed in an old mill on the grounds.
The name refers to Fercullen, the area that the O’Toole clan held here centuries ago. As with almost every young Irish distillery, the range consists of two kinds of bottles: its own distillate, which is still young, and older whiskey that was distilled elsewhere and bottled under its own name. The eighteen- and twenty-year-olds from the Five Elements series belong to that second group.
Ireland still had only a handful of distilleries in 2010. Now there are dozens, and Powerscourt is one of them.
Frequently asked questions about Fercullen
How many Fercullen does ’t Bockje have in stock?
Six bottles, all available for immediate delivery, from 33 to 185 euro. The eighteen-year-old from 2019 and The Gates are temporarily sold out.
Where does Fercullen come from?
From the Powerscourt distillery on the Powerscourt estate in County Wicklow, south of Dublin. The name refers to the area that clan O’Toole once ruled there.
Does the old whiskey come from their own distillery?
No. At young Irish distilleries it is usual for older bottles to have been distilled elsewhere and bottled under their own name. That applies to the eighteen- and twenty-year-old.
Which Fercullen should you try first?
The Falls or the Premium Blend, both under forty euros. If you want to taste the distillery's own distillate, the First Release is the bottle to choose.
Does ’t Bockje also ship Fercullen abroad?
Yes. We ship to around forty countries. Email info@bockje.nl if you want to know whether your country is included.
