What sets the types apart

Vodka is distilled from grain, potato or another agricultural base and filtered so cleanly that the taste stays light and neutral. Bison grass vodka is the Polish classic with a blade of bison grass in the bottle, which gives notes of hay, vanilla and coconut. Flavoured vodka is vodka with fruit, herbs or other aromas, often intended for a long drink. Below, for each type, you will find an explanation and the bottles that are in the shop.

Because vodka has little flavour of its own, the difference lies mainly in the raw material and the purity. Vodka made from rye is often somewhat spicier, vodka from wheat smoother and vodka from potato creamier. Drunk neat, ice-cold from the freezer, that difference comes out best. In a long drink or cocktail, a neutral vodka is precisely the base on which the other flavours are built. Storing it is simple: vodka keeps indefinitely after opening, upright and out of the sun. Kept in the freezer it becomes slightly more viscous and softer in taste, which works well for drinking neat.
