- 400 gram kaas in drie of vier soorten
- 200 gram droge worst
- 100 gram olijven
- 1 baguette
- 100 gram noten
- 2 tablespoons of mustard
Method
- Haal de kaas en de worst een half uur van tevoren uit de koelkast.
- Snijd de kaas in plakken of blokjes, de worst in dunne plakjes en het stokbrood in schijven.
- Leg alles op een plank met de olijven, de noten en een schaaltje mosterd.

- Take the cheese out of the fridge about an hour before serving; that brings out the flavour best.

Method
- Heat the frying oil to 180 °C.
- Fry the bitterballen for 4 to 5 minutes until golden brown and piping hot all the way through.
- Drain on kitchen paper and serve immediately with mustard.

Hertog Jan wordt gebrouwen in Arcen, in Noord-Limburg aan de Maas. De brouwerij werd daar in 1915 opgericht als De Vriendschap, door vier bevriende brouwers. In Arcen begon Nederland vroeg met bovengistend speciaalbier, een traditie die de brouwerij voortzet. Jaarlijks bezoeken ruim 50.000 mensen de brouwerij, met haar koperen brouwketels en de kelder. Tegenwoordig is Hertog Jan eigendom van AB InBev.
