What is needed

For 4 people

Kale with smoked sausageMain courseKale with smoked sausage

Ingredients

  • 1 kilo of chopped kale
  • 1.5 kilos of floury potatoes
  • 2 smoked sausages
  • 200 millilitres of warm milk
  • 30 grams butter
  • 100 grams of bacon cubes
  • mustard

Method

  1. Peel the potatoes, cut them into pieces and cook them with the kale on top in a little salted water for 20 minutes until tender.
  2. Meanwhile, heat the smoked sausage for 20 minutes in water just below boiling.
  3. Fry the bacon cubes in a dry pan for 5 minutes until crisp.
  4. Drain the potatoes and kale and mash them with the warm milk and butter into a smooth stamppot.
  5. Fold in the bacon and serve with the smoked sausage in slices and mustard.

  • 160 grams mature cheddar

Method

  1. Take the cheese out of the fridge about an hour before serving; that brings out the flavour best.
  2. Only cut or break the cheese just before serving.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams dry sausage and ham
  • 1 baguette

Method

  1. Take the sausage and ham out of the fridge 20 minutes before serving.
  2. Cut the sausage into thin slices and the baguette into rounds.
  3. Arrange the sausage and ham loosely on a board and serve with the bread.
