Method
- Haal de kaas en de worst een half uur van tevoren uit de koelkast.
- Snijd de kaas in plakken of blokjes, de worst in dunne plakjes en het stokbrood in schijven.
- Put everything on a board with the olives, the nuts and a small bowl of mustard.

- Take the cheese out of the fridge about an hour before serving; that brings out the flavour best.
- Only cut or break the cheese just before serving.

- Heat the frying oil to 180 °C.
- Fry the bitterballen for 4 to 5 minutes until golden brown and piping hot all the way through.

Averbode Geschenkverpakking + Glas is een doos met vier flesjes Belgisch abdijbier van Averbode en een bijbehorend glas. Volgens de etiketgegevens gaat het om flesjes van 33 cl met 7,5% vol, de sterkte van het blonde Averbode-abdijbier. Daarmee bevat de doos het bier waarmee de abdij van Averbode in Vlaanderen haar brouwtraditie weer oppakte.

Het brouwen gebeurt bij Brouwerij Huyghe, die het bier in opdracht van de abdij maakt. Het abdijbier is van hoge gisting en krijgt daarna een tweede gisting in de fles, waardoor er wat gist op de bodem achterblijft. Vier hopsoorten bepalen het hopkarakter, en een deel van de hop gaat er pas na de hoofdgisting bij. Huyghe besteedt bij het brouwen aandacht aan een kleinere ecologische voetafdruk en biedt werk aan mensen in sociale tewerkstelling.
