Why you will find Italian gins here
We keep one of the widest drinks ranges in the Netherlands, in a family business on the Brink in Bathmen. For Italian gins, that means not three or four choices but 21.
Italian gin is made for the aperitivo, and you can tell: bitter notes, citrus and herbs instead of only juniper. We keep them because they give a negroni or a spritz a distinctive twist of its own.
Not sure which one you need? Call 0570 541 278 or email info@bockje.nl. Tell us what you normally drink, and we will work it out together.

Italy has a long tradition of herbal liqueurs (vermouth, amaro, bitter), and that knowledge returns in its gin. Bittering herbs and citrus peel often play a bigger role than the juniper.
Typical botanicals are lemon, bergamot, olive leaf, rosemary, thyme and sage. The result is a gin that tastes more Mediterranean than English.
In a cocktail this works well: a negroni with Italian gin fits seamlessly with the vermouth and the bitter. The style also comes into its own with a neutral tonic and a slice of lemon.

Frequently asked questions
How many Italian gins does ’t Bockje have?
21 different ones, from 9 brands. Current prices and stock are in the webshop.
Which gin do you use for a negroni?
A gin with enough backbone to stand up to the vermouth and the bitter. A classic dry gin always works; a spicy, Mediterranean gin fits nicely with the Italian ingredients. A soft, floral gin disappears in the drink.
How much do Italian gins cost?
With us from € 13.99 to € 53.99. Prices are subject to change; what is shown in the online shop is the current price.
