We keep one of the widest drinks selections in the Netherlands, in a family business on the Brink in Bathmen. For Scottish gins that means not three or four choices but 30.
In Scotland, gin is now distilled in many places besides whisky. We stock several because the Scottish gins differ greatly from one another: from classic dry to salty and herbal.

Many Scottish distilleries started with gin to bridge the years in which their whisky was still maturing in cask. After all, gin does not need maturing and can be sold straight away.
Typical is the use of local botanicals: heather, myrtle, sloe, seaweed or pine needles. These give the gin a herbal, sometimes salty or resinous note.
Wondering whether Scottish gin tastes of whisky? Usually not, unless it has deliberately been aged in a whisky cask, which happens now and then.

How many Scottish gins does ’t Bockje have?
30 different ones, from 12 brands. The current price and stock can be found in the online shop.
Do whisky distilleries make gin too?
Regularly, yes. Gin does not need to mature and so brings in revenue straight away, while the whisky sits in cask for years. Some distilleries use the same still for this, others have a separate gin still.

Yes. You can order in our online shop; we ship to around forty countries. Free collection at Brink 2 in Bathmen is also possible.
