Why you will find porters here
We keep one of the widest drinks ranges in the Netherlands, in a family business on the Brink in Bathmen. For porters, that means not three or four choices but 5.
Porter has become a small category, and that is exactly why it is fun to put next to a stout. We keep a handful, so the difference can be tasted.
Not sure which one you need? Call 0570 541 278 or email info@bockje.nl. Tell us what you normally drink, and we will work it out together.

Porter originated in eighteenth-century London and was for a long time the city’s everyday beer. Stout developed from it as the stronger version.
Expect chocolate, caramel and toasted bread, with less sharp bitterness than a stout. A baltic porter is heavier and is brewed with bottom fermentation.
Good with chocolate desserts, but also with smoked meat.
