We keep one of the widest drinks ranges in the Netherlands, in a family business on the Brink in Bathmen. For seasonal beers, that means not three or four choices but 50.
Seasonal beer is by definition temporary. We buy in plenty when it is available, so you can still find some outside the peak.

These are beers tied to a particular time of year. The best known is bock beer: dark, malty and sweetish, traditionally in autumn.
There are also spring bock, May bock, summer beers and Christmas beers, which are often stronger and spicier.
As these are limited brews, stock is finite. Once gone, they do not return until next year.

Bock beer is a dark, malty beer traditionally brewed in autumn. There are also spring and May bocks, which are lighter in colour. The name goes back to the German town of Einbeck.
