Why you will find tripels here
We keep one of the widest drinks ranges in the Netherlands, in a family business on the Brink in Bathmen. For tripels that means not three or four choices but 54.
Tripel is the beer on which Belgian and Dutch breweries judge each other. We stock them side by side, from the classics to the small brewers from our own region, so that you can taste the difference instead of reading about it.
Not sure which one you need? Call 0570 541 278 or email info@bockje.nl. Tell us what you normally drink, and we will work it out together.

The name comes from the abbey breweries and originally referred to strength: the heaviest beer of the house, marked with three signs on the cask. Today it is not a protected term, so any brewer may use it.
What you get in practice: pale blond to golden, lots of carbonation, a creamy head, notes of ripe fruit and clove from the yeast, and despite the high alcohol a dry finish. That last point is exactly what distinguishes a good tripel from a sweet blond.
Serve it cool but not ice-cold, around eight degrees, in a goblet. Too cold and the fruit disappears.
