Blond is not a protected style but a colour description for top-fermented beers that are not strong enough to be called tripel.
The taste ranges from dry and spicy to round and fruity. The yeast has a big influence: Belgian yeasts give pepper and clove, English yeasts more fruit.
A blond is often the beer to start with if you are used to pilsner and want something more.
