With dessertVanilla ice cream with warm cherries
Ingredients
- 500 millilitres of vanilla ice cream
- 400 grams of cherries from a jar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cornflour
- 1 cinnamon stick
Method
- Drain the cherries and collect the juice.
- Bring the juice to the boil with the sugar and the cinnamon stick.
- Mix the cornflour with a splash of cold water, use it to thicken the juice and let it boil for 1 minute.
- Heat the cherries in it for 2 minutes and remove the cinnamon stick.
- Scoop the ice cream into coupes and pour the warm cherries over it.
With coffeeRoasted walnuts
Ingredients
- 150 grams walnuts
- 1 tablespoon honey
- sea salt
Method
- Preheat the oven to 170 °C.
- Mix the walnuts with the honey and spread them out on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
- Roast for 8 to 10 minutes until fragrant and lightly coloured, stirring halfway.
- Sprinkle immediately with sea salt and leave to cool until crisp.
With the cheeseGorgonzola dolce
Ingredients
- 160 grams of gorgonzola dolce
Method
- Take the cheese out of the fridge about an hour before serving; that brings out the flavour best.
- Only cut or break the cheese just before serving.

Vecchio Amaro Del Capo Caffo Likeur Giftbox is de Calabrische kruidenlikeur van Distilleria F.lli Caffo in een geschenkverpakking, met een fles van 70 cl op 35% vol. Het amaro ontstaat door kruiden, bloemen, vruchten en wortels op alcohol te laten trekken, met onder meer mandarijn, anijs, kamille en zoethout. De maker raadt aan het ijskoud te schenken, op -20 °C in een bevroren glas. Dankzij de doos is de fles direct klaar om cadeau te geven.

De naam verwijst naar Capo Vaticano, een kaap aan de Calabrische kust bij Tropea, die ook op het etiket staat. De distilleerderij staat in Limbadi, in de provincie Vibo Valentia, en de planten voor het amaro komen uit Calabrië zelf. In 2016 kreeg Vecchio Amaro del Capo op de internationale ISW-wedstrijd in Neustadt de titel beste kruidenlikeur van dat jaar.
Vecchio Amaro del Capo dient altijd gekoeld geserveerd te worden. Bij een temperatuur van -20 °C komen munt, anijs en zoethout volledig tot hun recht, terwijl de kruiden een fris en verleidelijk sensorisch tapijt creëren.
