Why you will find rieslings here
We keep one of the broadest drinks shelves in the Netherlands, in a family business on the Brink in Bathmen. For rieslings that means not three or four choices but 12.
With riesling, the question is always: dry or not? We keep several styles side by side and can tell from the bottle which way it goes. Feel free to ask.
Not sure which one you need? Call 0570 541 278 or email info@bockje.nl. Tell us what you normally drink, and we will work it out together.

Riesling grows best in cool regions. Germany is the classic country, with Mosel, Rheingau and Pfalz; in addition, Alsace, Austria and Australia make wine of their own character with it.
The high acidity is the trademark. That is why riesling can be both bone dry and sweet without becoming sticky: in sweet riesling the acids keep the wine in balance.
On German labels the word trocken (dry) or halbtrocken and feinherb (off-dry) helps. If nothing is stated, the wine is often a little sweeter. Kabinett, Spätlese and Auslese say something about ripeness at harvest, not automatically about sweetness.
